The Nogodan Course is more popular among tourists rather than hikers, since the road is relatively wide and there are parking lots, restaurants, auto shops, shelters, and bathrooms along the road. There are also stone steps and unpaved roads accessible to visitors. The unpaved road is gently sloped but winds around the mountain, so it takes about 30 more minutes to reach the end. The stone steps in front of the Nogodan Shelter leads to the Nogodan Pass, and it passes through the mountain road on a few different locations.

About 30 minutes up the mountain from the large parking lot of Seongsamjae Service Area, you’ll reach a pass called Munenggi (1,250m). From the Nogodan Shelter on this hill, you’ll have to climb the steps and walk the dirt road to reach the Nogodan Peak (1,430m). Most of the stone steps are in the forest. You may find the unpaved road a little boring or slightly too lengthy to walk, but there is also the benefit of enjoying the scenery.

Most come to Nogodan to see the sea of clouds and wild flowers. The entire area of Nogodan is on a level terrain, but lush with vegetation. The flat land is covered with sawgrass and day lilies, which are quite a sight to behold particularly in July and August when they're in full bloom. The wasite and top of the mountain are lush wih royal azaleas and other species of shrubs. The sea of clouds seen from the top of Nogodan, or the ‘Nogo-Unhae’ as Koreans call it, is one of the ‘Ten Scenic Views of Jirisan Mountain’.
