The Baemsagol Valley Course starts from Banseon and passes through the Baemsagol Hiking Information Center, Oryongdae, Byeongso, Ganjangso, and Baemsagol Hiking Information Center (Old Baemsagol Shelter) before reaching Hwagaejae. This course if for intermediate-level hikers. This section is 9.2km long, and it takes about 4 hours 20 minutes to reach the top. But please keep in mind that this is a one-way trip, and you need to take another trail at Hwagaejae to come down the mountain. This means you need to start early in the morning if you want to come down the mountain before it gets dark.

If you walk past the Baemsagol Information Center right next to the Jirisan National Park Bukbu Office and follow the trail for about 30 minutes (2km), you'll see a large rock on your left right before the Waun Village Intersection. The rock is called 'Yoryongdae' because it looks like "a dragon ascending to the Heavens while shaking its head". Walk 10 more minutes from here, and you'll reach Tangnyongso. There, you'll see streams of water are flowing down the 50m high cliff. A legend has it that a dragon took a bath here before ascending to the Heavens.

Climb the trail for another 1 hour from Tangnyongso, and you'll see a place called Baemso. Another legend has it that this is where a large python that couldn't become a dragon lived here. About 5 more minutes of hiking, you'll reach Byeongso, which was named as such because it looks like a gourd bottle. Walk for about 10 more minutes, and you'll see a place surrounded by cliffs. This place is called Byeongpungso, because the cliffs look like a folding wall screen. The streams flowing between strangely shaped rocks create a picturesque view. Hike for 20 to 30 minutes from Byeongpungso, and you'll be passing through Jeseungdae, where a Buddhist priest named Jeongjin from Songnimsa Temple held a ritual to take away worries and sorrows for Buddhists.

Climb for about 50 more minutes from Jeseungdae, and you'll reach the last waterfall pond called Ganjangso. The terrain ahead is steep, so this is the place where you want to take a short break and catch a breath before you go on. Hike the steep trail from Ganjangso for 40 to 50 minutes, and you'll reach the Baemsagol Hiking Information Center. This site used be the Baemsagol Shelter in the past. Hwagaejae, the final destination in this trail section, is about 5 to 10 minutes from the center.
