Inwol-myeon → Junggun Village → Suseongdae Valley → Janghang Village → Maedong Village → Sanghwang Village → Changwon Village → Geumgye Village
This is a 19km path between Inwol-ri, Inwol-myeon in Namwon, Jeollabuk-do and Uitan-ri, Macheon-myeon in Hamyang, Gyeongsangnam-do. Most of the Old Road between Namwon, Jeollabuk-do and Hamyang, Gyeongsangnam-do in the northern side of Jirisan Mountain is for pedestrians. The road offers an excellent view of the main ridge of Jirisan centered around Deunggujae, and passes through the terraced fields and six mountain villages before reaching Eomcheon River.
Many visitors would reflect, after walking past the small mountain village, on the true meaning of life and warmth of people. Jirisan Mountain will make you feel small, but the locals know that you must become part of the mountain if you want to live in it. In this sense, those living in the mountain villages between Inwol and Geumgye are already part of the mountain.
The main section of the trail starts from Inwol-myeon and encompasses Junggun Village, Suseongdae, Janghang Village, and Changwon Village. Once you pass through Changwon Village and climb the Deunggujae Pass, you’ll find yourself out of Namwon and in Hamyang. After Deunggujae, you’ll reach Geumgye Village in Hamyang.
The Inswol-Geumgye Section includes embankment roads, field paths, roadways, mountain trails, and forest paths. This makes it a great section to enjoy the scenery of the embankment, mountain villages, mountain, and valleys. It's a widely known section now, especially since the opening of the new road in 2008.
