Samhwasil Village → Ijeong Village → Beodijae Pass → Seodang Village → Ugye Reservoir → Goemok Village → Sinchon Village → Sinchonjae Pass → Meokjeom Village → Meokjeomjae Pass → Midong Village → Daechuk Village
This trail starts from Samhwasil and winds through Ijeong Village, Seodang Village, Ugye Reservoir, and Daechuk Village. The trail passes through a total of seven villages, including Ijeong Village, Seodang Village, Goemok Village, Sinchon Village, Meokjeom Village, Mijeom Village, and Daechuk Village.
The Samhwasil-Daechuk Section includes many villages, rice paddies, fields, mountain paths, town roads, and forest paths with different seasonal views. The foot of Jirisan Mountain is lush with flowers in the spring and golden leaves in the autumn. In particular, Meokjeom Village is the first to see ume blossoms in the spring among other villages.
While the villages in the northern part of Jirisan Mountain have terraced rice paddies, this place has gat paddies. The rice paddies in this village are called gat paddies, because they're small and resemble a traditional Korean horsehair hat.
There are many roads and tree groves in this village as well. One tree in particular is called ‘Munamsong’, a pine tree designated as a Natural Monumnet. It reminds us of the majesty of the wildlife. While on your way from Meokjeomjae to Midong, you’ll see the winding Seomjingang River, Hyeongjebong Peak on the mountain peak near Hwagae, and the foot of Baegunsan Mountain across Seomjingang River. With the leaves changing colors every season, many tourists to this place often fall in love with the natural beauty of this region.
