Omi Village → Yongdu Village → Hasa Village → Sangsa Village → Hwangjeon Village → Korea National Park Service Species Restoration Center → Suhan Village → Banggwang Village
This section of Jirisan Dulle-gil stretches 12.2km between Omi Village, Omi-ri, Toji-myeon and Banggwang Village, Banggwang-ri, Gwangui-myeon in Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do. The trail in this section starts from Omi Village and passes through Hasa Village, Sangsa Village (1.7km), Jirisan Hiking Information Center, Dangchon Village, and Suhan Village before reaching Banggwang Village. It's a great section to see and enjoy all the charms of the region while walking on the farm roads and forest paths.
The Omi-Banggwang Section is one of the rare places with many distinctive features of a traditional village. In Omi, Sangsa, and Hasa villages, you’ll see beautiful old houses named Unjoru, Ssangsanjae, and Gokjeonjae. Along with these traditional houses, the villages are widely known for exceptional filial piety and longevity. As you continue on the road, you’ll see Jirisan Mountain on one side, and Seomjingang River on the other. And the road will lead you to wide plains. The most outstanding features of this section are that you’ll get to see Seomjingang River and wide plains along the river bank.
This section also includes two of the most well-known Buddhist temples: Hwaeomsa Temple and Cheoneunsa Temple. So if you have the time, you can also choose to visit the two temples. Also at the Jirisan Hiking Information Center right below Hwaeomsa Temple, you can learn about the resources and history of Jirisan Mountain. You will also get a chance to see the Asiatic black bears at the Species Restoration Center near the information center.
