Namsa Yedamchon is a village with beautiful traditional Korean houses that can be seen over the low stone fences. The name of the village has two meanings. On the outside, it means 'a village with old fences'. On the inside, it means 'to learn the dignity and manners of old scholars living behind the stone fence'.

Located at the entrance to Jirisan Mountain, Namsa Yedamchon is one of the two most well-known hanok (Korean traditional houses) villages in the province of Gyeongsang-do along with Hahoe Village in Andong. In the past, it has been the most well-known village in Gyeongsangnam-do for great scholars and traditional Korean houses.
