Located in Josan-dong, Namwon, this exhibition hall displays lacquer varnished products.
It was built in 2004 by Namwon City under an initiative designed to propagate and keep the traditional crafts alive. The hall not only publicizes the lacquer craft traditions, but also carries out research on the improvement of lacquer craft techniques. There is an exhibition hall, workroom, research lab and educational room. The competition winning pieces displayed in the exhibition hall located on the first floor show off the beauty of lacquer craft. The displayed pieces include furniture, ornaments, utensils used in ancestral rites ceremonies, spoons, and many other items. The exhibition hall also runs activity programs for visitors. If you have a particular interest in laquerware, you might enjoy visiting the hall and participating in the activities offered.
Chunhyang Theme Park and Gwanghalluwan Garden are located near the exhibition hall.
