Jeongnyeongchi that sits between Jucheon-myeon and Sannae-myeon of Namwon, Jeollabuk-do, is a pass between Manbokdae Terrace and Keungoribong Peak of western Jirisan. Currently, the Local Road No. 737 goes through this pass.

According to a record written by a Buddhist monk named Hyujeong (1520~1604), the king of Mahan sent a general with the surname Jeong to this place to defend against attempted invasions by Jinhan and Byeonhan, and as such this place was called Jeongnyeongchi, meaning 'a pass of Jeong'.

The view from Jeongnyeongchi is pleasant. On the eastern side you can see Cheonwangbong Peak in the distance; and on the southern side you can see the range from Manbokdae to Wangsirubong Peak; and on the western side you can see Namwon downtown while to the north, the Unbong Plains are visible.

Thanks to these views, this hilly path is favored by tourists who wish to enjoy a nice drive or a hike. At the Jeongnyeongchi Service Area, snacks, fishcakes, coffee and other drinks are available.
During winter the section between Gogi-ri, Jeongnyeongchi and Dogye Samgeori is closed for the safety of travelers against snowdrifts and icy trails. Even during spring, if there is bad weather or icy conditions, the section may be closed.
