Manbokdae Terrace is located on the western side of Jirisan and is one of the ten most scenic spots of Jirisan Mountain. It is called Manbokdae, meaning 'ten thousand fortunes', because it represents good fortune and longevity.
On this mountain, the view of the silver grass that spreads out on the mountain ridge is a spectacular sight to see. With an unobstructed view of Manbokdae ridge, it seems as though the silver grass is moving in waves over Jirisan Mountain range and makes you feel as though you are looking at something celestial. Cheonwangbong Peak in the distance seems so far away.

The east side of Manbokdae ridge, where Simwon Valley is located, has a gentle slope while the west side, where Sandong Village is located, has a steep slope. Therefore, a natural fortress forms on the approaches to large towns such as Namwon, Gurye, and Unbong in the west.

The silver grass of Manbokdae begins to bloom in early October and reaches its peak in early November. The silver grass concentrates in the area between Manbokdae and Myobongchi, in early morning it is silver grass and at sunset, it appears golden.
There are several hiking trails: a trail that approaches from Seongsamjae or Jeongnyeongchi, a trail from Sangwi Village to Myobongchi, and a trail from the direction of Simwon. Among these, the most frequently used trail is the course with Seongsamjae or Jeongnyeongchi as the starting or ending point, this course coincides with Marugeum of Baekdudaegan, which is a mountain range that runs north-south on the Korean Peninsula.
