This natural recreation forest is situated in Waryong-ri, Cheoncheon-myeon, Jangsu-gun on the border of a high mountain in between Jinan-gun and Jangsu-gun in Jeollabuk-do.

It’s a clean natural resort created by clearing a portion of a lush forest near the source of Geumgang River at an elevation of 650 meters on the Honam Mountain Range. In the resort, there is a great mountain trail winding through a number of mountains including a skate-shaped valley basin and Ogyechi, which is the highest peak in the five valleys in the region. The wild forest lush with trees and valleys with clear water make an excellent home for animals as well as wild flowers and plants such as omija, deodeok, and pine mushrooms.

A unique characteristic of this forest is that people can camp out in the middle of a forest along the valley and enjoy the lush groves and clear water. The place also offers a clean communal kitchen in addition to other convenient facilities, as well as a swimming pool and water sled park for children in the middle of the forest. In the forest, there are the Forest House, Training House, Outdoor Lecture Space, Forest Recreation Hall, Nature Study Center, and Campsite, as well as two hiking trails, artificial snow slope, forest paths, water park, hiking path, and physical training ground.

Around the place, there are also a number of tourist spots including the Birthplace of Nongae, Nongae Shrine, Maisan Mountain, Jirisan National Park, Banghwadong Family Holiday Village, and Singwangsa Temple (Jeollabuk-do Tangible Cultural Heritage No. 113).
